EDITORIAL This is the third issue of the "Star & Planet" - the TPF Newsletter. Its purpose is to provide news of the Terrestrial Planet Finder (TPF) Project for a technical and scientific audience. The Newsletter is produced about every 3 months, or whenever there is news to share. If you do *NOT* wish to receive future editions, please follow the directions at the end of this message. For readers interested in more general information on TPF, please visit the "Planet Quest" web site, where you can join the "Planet Finder Club", for news on the search for worlds outside our solar system: http://planetquest.jpl.nasa.gov/ Steve Unwin, Editor TPF Deputy Project Scientist stephen.unwin@jpl.nasa.gov 2. TPF ANNUAL REVIEW The TPF project plans to hold an Annual Review every year. The first Annual Review will be held Tuesday-Thursday, October 14-16, 2003 at the Pasadena Convention Center. This review is open to anyone who wishes to attend. It is for a technical audience: scientists, engineers, and technologists interested in TPF will hear about the Project's progress, and plans for the coming year. This is also a good opportunity for discussion and for you to provide input and advice. Presentations will include oral and poster sessions of system design and technology development work that is being done with funding from the TPF Project. A web page with agenda and registration information will be posted in July 2003 and linked from the TPF public web page (http://tpf.jpl.nasa.gov). The Review organizer is Chris Lindensmith . Here is an outline agenda: October 14 (full day): Oral Sessions Programmatics Science Status/Progress Design Studies October 15 (full day): Oral Sessions and Poster Sessions Interferometer Technology Coronagraph Technology Formation Flying Technology October 16 (half day): Oral Sessions Cryocoolers Blocks of hotel rooms have been reserved at the following hotels in Arcadia and Monrovia, a few miles east of Pasadena.
